New game just dropped from the suspicious wizard basement :O

The Dark World of the Spectral Wizard is now open

Attention brave little keyboard wanderers!! Nameboard has obtained a whole entire cursed game now, which is definitely normal website behavior and not at all the result of forbidden moon-code leaking out of a floppy disk. Please clap politely for The Dark World of the Spectral Wizard, a spooky maze adventure where you collect weird treasures, annoy reality, and try very hard not to get personally inspected by a spectral wizard with boundary issues.

• Explore the wizard's dungeon. Walk around in a first-person maze like it is 1994 and your browser just drank a potion labeled "do not perceive geometry."
• Collect arcane junk with consequences. Keys, ingredients, letters, potions, and deeply suspicious little objects are scattered around for your heroic inventory hoarding needs.
• A whole game lives in the Games button now. This is no longer merely a website. It is also a tiny haunted rectangle where your arrow keys may develop opinions.
• First-person dungeon wandering has arrived. You can walk, turn, investigate, and make decisions with the confidence of someone who definitely read the ancient warning label.
• The spectral wizard is extremely present. He is not a metaphor. He is not customer support. He is simply around, making the vibes worse in a premium way.
• Inventory behavior has become suspiciously important. Collect things, carry things, stare at things, and wonder whether the thing you found is helpful, cursed, decorative, or all three.
• There are puzzles for your little wizard brain. Nothing says “healthy website feature” like typing answers into a cursed room while pretending this was a normal use of development time.
• The game has places. Multiple places, even. Some are spooky. Some are worse. All of them are technically inside your browser, which feels illegal but apparently is not.
• The site economy and the game are now holding hands awkwardly. Namebux and collectibles have started interacting with the game layer, and everyone is pretending this was planned from the beginning.
• There is lore now. Not sensible lore. Nameboard lore. The kind that arrives wearing a cloak and refuses to explain why it smells like potion fumes.

This is probably the most unnecessary thing ever added to a profile website, which is exactly why it had to happen. Open Games, start game, and bring snacks for your digital soul. The wizard can smell confidence and potions.

Another fresh lil update o7

More buttons, more bank, more shiny trinket behavior

Okay sooo the site has been tinkered with once again and now there is even more tiny internet machinery humming away in the walls. Very clicky. Very cozy. Kinda enchanted desktop castle coded. :3

• The Bank is live. You can now open the Bank, check your Namebux, and send money to other users like a proper lil fairy banker.
• Shop and inventory stuff is here. You can buy animated items from the Shop, keep them in your inventory, and inspect other users' items too. Tiny collection behavior unlocked.
• Items can be used in posts, messages, and profiles. If you own an item, you can render it with #item(your-slug). Yes, this means more decorative silliness in ASCII zones. :D
• Trading is now a thing. You can send trade requests with Namebux, items, or both, then accept, reject, or cancel them in their own trade windows.

Basically: the website now has more economy, more collectible nonsense, more user-to-user interaction, and more tiny buttons that do useful things. Please use your new magical posting powers responsibly. :)

Nameboard got a heckin upgrade

Hello everyheckinbody!! The first Nameboard update is here, and the little website has learned a whole bunch of new tricks. Very wizard tower. Very sparkly parchment. Much wow. :3

• Threads are heckin smarter now. You can reference posts with #post(123), and Nameboard turns it into a clickable link. Extremely spellbook behavior.
• Thread replies got their own lil window. Click Reply to thread and a separate reply window opens. No more reply form camping at the bottom like a lost scroll. :P
• Messages got a glow-up. Inbox and sent messages now have search, pagination, cleaner cards, and easier clicking. Your DMs are now less tavern floor chaos, more neatly stacked little letters.
• The member directory is nicer. Member rows are easier to scan and click. A cozy lil hallway of usernames. Heck yeah. ^_^
• Thread lists are improved. Threads now have cleaner metadata, sorting, pagination, and clickable rows. The old magic is pleased.
• New theme: Nameboard Aero. A shiny blue Aero-style theme has landed. Soft computer nostalgia with a side of moonlit shimmer. :D
• Theme previews. Settings now shows little preview cards for themes, so choosing your vibe is no longer a blind leap into the enchanted mist.
• User content has special commands. You can use #username(someone), #post(123), and #heading(My Cool Heading). Nameboard renders these into nicer profile, message, and thread content.
